Join Salman Khan for the Child Labour Free movement, More and more people across the globe are coming forward and joining the movement. Please sign the petition and help the children. India is home to 447 million children. The largest population of children in the world. 60 million of them, however, do not know what a childhood is! They are forced to work 18 hours a day, 7 days a week in dismal conditions in the Arts & Crafts Industries of India. 5 hundred thousand children are exposed to toxic fumes of leading the ceramics industry and don't even make it to their teens. 4 hundred thousand children working in the silk looms of India are forced to dip their hands into boiling hot water while handling cocoons. 2 hundred thousand suffer from respiratory disorders breathing in the dust, in the woodwork industry. A few hundred thousand are at a risk of permanent loss of vision, weaving those beautiful carpetsthat adorn our Halls. All this for daily wages of Rs. 5!! The atrocities, are endless and the beautiful Arts & Craft Industry is not so beautiful after all, is it? Let us wake up to the exploitation. And the atrocities. Let us give 60 million children a voice. Let us replace their tools with pens. Let us question till we get answers. Let us make sure that the ones in power do not just pass laws, but also act on them. Let us give these children their childhood. Let us start so that the exploitation stops.
