The Ballinger Family, one of the most celebrated of Tennessee Bluegrass family bands, often invite friends to perform with them--a tradition they gleaned from performing with their friend Chet Atkins. Here, a live performance has been joined with the venue of the day, the "Celebration of Craft" held at the Appalachian Center for Crafts--part of Tennessee Tech University. This overlooks beautiful, hill-ensconced Center Hill Lake. Part of the event included where one could build a bowl for the Putnam County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The bowls will be utilized in their annual "Gumbo on the Square" event, where you pay for just one bowl and get all the gumbo you can possibly eat (until they run out). The video presents a combination of the perfect magic of Tennessee Bluegrass with the joie de vie of Tennessee Springtime.
